After almost a year of difficulties, problems with suppliers, mediocre distillations and just a whole lot of headache we are very pleased to offer our first Sri Lankan oil. Adhirajya (Imperial) is a culmination of using traditional steaming techniques but using the very best modern apparatus we could get into the country. For both these oils we wanted to use the very best wood we could lay our hands on and using up to date apparatus to do it justice. We hope and thank God that we have managed to achive this.
This oil is etheral, you dont wear it, it wears you, envelopes you, transports you to somewhere deep within your own psyche. We dont need to stress the fact that these trees are ancient, very easily centuries old, have had no interaction with humans until the harvesting stage. Forget gently burning Walla chips, this is the smell of unburnt chips, when you open a bag of high grade wood and the smell hits you in the face.
To the notes, well the closest you will have come to this is Gyrinops of Borneo, but multiply that sweet, rich mintiness, honey from acacia and the piercing green sparkle of kinam and then you start to get close to this truly sublime aroma. We are still trying to get our heads around this and each time seems to throw up something new, so please do enjoy and let us know your thoughts.
Possibly the best Walla Patta oil in the world?
